Melanie Overton

Expertise and Practice

Melanie is responsible for all aspects of LK’s Adelaide human resources, team administration, professional engagement, and training and development. She oversees regulatory and compliance matters for LK’s employees, and coordinates practitioner compliance with Law Society obligations. She is an important member of the firm’s management team and works closely with the firm’s principals to lead programs that develop the skills, experience and performance of our team.

With three decades of experience in human resources management and legal training, Melanie has a deep understanding of individual and organisational priorities. She is known for her nurturing approach to fostering resilient and high performing teams. She facilitates individual growth opportunities for and leads LK’s Wellbeing Committee.

Melanie is committed to achieving efficiencies and improved experiences through the use of technology and has worked closely with the firm’s Technology team to streamline and automate key processes. She manages the firm’s research resources and is focused on the development consequences and opportunities presented by the use of emerging technology in the law.

Melanie commenced at LK in 2014. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from the University of Sydney, a Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Huddersfield and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from London Metropolitan University.
