Expertise and Practice
Fiona is experienced in commercial dispute resolution matters and public and internal inquiries, with experience in ACICA arbitration proceedings and claims before the Supreme Court of South Australia and the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Victoria. Her clients include government, public institutions and organisations from the agribusiness, property, education and sporting sectors.
Fiona advises clients on risk, including reviewing organisational procedures and policies in relation to privacy and whistleblowing.
Fiona is committed, thoughtful and meticulous. She is proficient in Cantonese and is a member of the Asian Australian Lawyers Association Inc Committee.
Fiona commenced at LK in 2020. She has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Health and Medical Sciences (Advanced) from the University of Adelaide. She is admitted in the Supreme Court of South Australia, the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia.

South Australian Government – Confidential Investigation
Advised an agency of the South Australian Government in relation to a complex potential insolvency and regulatory dispute.
new Royal Adelaide Hospital
Representing the South Australian State Government on various strategic and legal issues concerning defaults, delays and disruption arising out of the AU$2.5 billion public-private partnership for the design, construction and operation of the State’s major health facility. This involves acting for the State in the associated arbitral proceedings and proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of South Australia.
Cargill v Viterra
Represented a multinational agribusiness in appeal proceedings in the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Victoria concerning a trial judgment of AU$293 million arising from the sale of a subsidiary.
Greyhound Racing South Australia (GRSA)
Conducted independent internal review of the governance and operations of GRSA having regard to rights and obligations under a complex legislative framework, internal rules, common law and equity, and ‘social license’.
Property Investment Fraud
Representing a group of investors in a claim to recover over AU$20 million paid for investment in commercial property. Interlocutory proceedings have involved the operation of freezing and restraining orders and successful applications for the appointment of receivers to take possession of and sell commercial property worth more than AU$10 million.
Confidential Professional Negligence Claim
Worked with an offshore firm to defend another professional services firm in relation to allegations of professional negligence.
Whistleblowing Risk Management and Advisory
Advising organisations on the development and implementation of effective whistleblower frameworks, including reviewing and drafting whistleblower policies to ensure legal compliance and best practice, advising company officers and senior management on their whistleblower obligations, and preparing internal training presentations.
Payroll Tax Liability Challenges
Conducting independent reviews and assessments of objections to payroll tax determinations, including an analysis of the factual and legal basis for decisions. Advising state revenue authority on the interpretation and application of payroll tax legislation and case law.
Governance, Policy and Risk Management Advice
Advised a tertiary institution on policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Commonwealth and State legislation and regulations, guidance on disciplinary and misconduct processes including matters involving potentially criminal conduct, and advice on compliance with terms of grant funding.
