Expertise and Practice
Emily is experienced in commercial dispute resolution, and represents clients in proceedings before the South Australian courts, Federal Court of Australia and ACICA. She has advised clients across a variety of sectors, including government, professional services, and banking and finance.
Emily is committed to LK’s community initiatives, and advises clients on a range of civil matters through The Accessible Justice Project. Through this work, she has experience with wills and estates, commercial tenancy, and employment law matters.
Emily joined LK in 2023. She has a Master of Laws and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Adelaide. She is admitted in the Supreme Court of South Australia.
Recent Experience
new Royal Adelaide Hospital
Representing the South Australian State Government on various strategic and legal issues, including major defaults, and claims involving allegations against third parties, in arbitral and Federal Court proceedings arising out of the AU$2.5 billion public-private partnership for the design, construction and operation of the State’s major health facility.
Kangaroo Island Ports Redevelopment
Representing the South Australian Government in a dispute concerning the upgrade of ferry terminals at Cape Jervis and Penneshaw, including representation in Supreme Court of South Australia proceedings brought by the contractor.
Confidential Professional Negligence Claim
Working with an offshore firm to defend another professional services firm in relation to allegations of professional negligence.
Multi-party Breach of Contract, Negligence and Misleading and Deceptive Conduct Claim
Represented client in multi-party claim relating to the destruction of goods which were in the custody and control of a storage provider, including matters of insurance.
Banking Matters
Representing a national bank in various South Australian court proceedings brought by a former customer.
