David Marshall

Expertise and Practice

David brings over 25 years’ experience to his role as CTO at LK, where he is responsible for leading the firm’s technology strategy, governance and innovation. He has extensive experience in digital transformation, infrastructure modernisation, cybersecurity and the integration of automation across technology and legal operations. David’s leadership ensures the firm’s technology platforms are secure, scalable and aligned with the firm’s strategic objectives.

David has extensive experience with the design, implementation and management of high-availability infrastructure, local and wide area networks, practice management systems, databases and Cloud solutions. He has a strong interest in developing integrated IT security and disaster recovery protocols, including layered security, systems to regularly test vulnerabilities and monitor attempted infractions.

David was visionary in establishing an early Cloud presence in Adelaide in 2010, in advance of large public Cloud vendors entering the Australian market. Similarly, David has a deep understanding of more recent technological innovations and he is focused on how emerging technology can be applied to transform legal practice and our clients’ experience.

David is highly creative, committed and commercial. He advises on client projects to resolve complex data or access issues, advise on technical and industry issues and to modify processes to improve quality and efficiency of work product.

David commenced at LK in 2019, prior to which he was the Founder and Managing Director of Seek Tech, an Adelaide-based technology company providing managed services, cloud hosting and business continuity solutions. David worked with LK as its managed services provider for 14 years prior to joining the firm.
