Brooke is an experienced commercial litigator specialising in complex investigations and claims arising from large-scale corporate insolvencies and acts of corporate fraud. Brooke has played a lead role in the resolution of some of the largest corporate collapses in the Asia-Pacific region, and in representing the South Australian Government in claims arising from the construction of major infrastructure projects.

Many of Brooke’s matters involve claims across multiple jurisdictions, including matters before courts and tribunals in Australia, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom and the Cayman Islands. Her clients include leading liquidators, government departments, regulators and manufacturers in Australia and Hong Kong.

Brooke has extensive experience with large, complex and multi-faceted claims. She is adept at leading large teams and claims across different jurisdictions through interlocutory phases through final hearings. Clients and peers appreciate Brooke’s strategic and practical approach, as well as her unfailing commitment and positivity.

Brooke has been a Principal of LK since 2025. She has a Bachelor of Laws from Charles Darwin University and a Bachelor of International Relations from Flinders University. She is admitted in the Supreme Court of South Australia.

Recent Experience

new Royal Adelaide Hospital

Representing the South Australian State Government on various strategic and legal issues, including major defaults, and claims involving allegations against third parties, in arbitral and Federal Court proceedings arising out of the AU$2.5 billion public-private partnership for the design, construction and operation of the State’s major health facility.

China Medical Technologies, Inc.

Representing the Hong Kong and Cayman Island liquidators of a NASDAQ listed medical technology company that collapsed following the alleged theft of US$500 million by senior management in multiple claims over 11 years.

Claims for breaches of director and officer duties, conspiracy, fraudulent trading and accessorial liability were brought in the High Court of Hong Kong, and in related proceedings for Mareva injunctive relief in Singapore and the US.

ASIC Investigations and Enforcement

Advised ASIC regarding potential enforcement action against financial institutions following the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry.

Commercial and IP-Related Claims

Advised an international fashion sales and communications agency on prospective commercial and IP-related claims against the director of an Australian fashion label for insolvent trading, asset stripping and phoenixing in proceedings in the English High Court.
