Amy has over 20 years of experience as a commercial litigator, in disputes spanning all major Australian jurisdictions, the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Cayman Islands, the BVI, Canada and the US. She has successfully litigated and resolved claims involving contract, consumer, energy, insurance and construction law, insolvency and restructuring, post-M&A litigation, fraud, director and auditor liability, and privacy, data and intellectual property breaches.
Amy has particularly deep experience assisting clients in highly regulated industries, including energy, resources, infrastructure, technology, aerospace, defence and financial services.
Working closely with clients to successfully navigate legal and strategic risks, Amy also advises on complex regulatory and compliance issues, including security of critical infrastructure, privacy, data governance, whistleblowing and sector-specific regimes. This assistance encompasses internal investigations, responses to regulatory inquiries, crisis management and uplifts to contract and policy frameworks.

Amy has been a Principal of LK since 2018. She joined LK in 2012 from the London office of Allen & Overy. She is also an experienced Board and advisory panel member, GAICD and FGIA. Amy has a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) from the University of Adelaide and is admitted in the Supreme Court of South Australia, the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia. Spring Gully Foods
Acting for the administrator of an iconic Australian food producer following its financial collapse and entry into administration. Advised on complex security and priority issues and assisted with the sale of the company’s IP assets and brands to a major Australian consumer goods group, ensuring continuity for the 79-year-old brand and its product lines.
Lumibird Group
Represented multi-national medical, defence and industrial laser technology group, listed and headquartered in France, and various of its subsidiaries, directors and officers, in highly contested litigation brought by an ASX-listed competitor. The proceedings concerned allegations of corporate espionage, misleading and deceptive conduct and breaches of the equitable duty of confidence following a major share sale and purchase.
Electricity and Water Utilities
Assisting electricity sector clients navigate and resolve a range of contractual and infrastructure disputes and contentious regulatory issues. Assisting with an independent investigation into delays, defects, claims and exposure arising out of the construction of a AU$2 billion desalination plant. Additionally, advising major Australian electricity and water utilities on a range of risk and compliance matters, including insurance, governance, data, security, whistleblowing, privacy and risk management frameworks.

Advising defence industry clients operating in maritime, land, air and electronic warfare domains on a range of privacy, data protection and security of critical infrastructure matters and commercial disputes.
Automotive Group
Representing a major automotive group in the successful defence and resolution of contested allegations of contractual and tortious breaches, misleading and deceptive conduct and contraventions of supplier guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
Property Development Group
Representing a large property development and construction group in contested proceedings concerning alleged building defects and delays during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Great Southern Group
Represented the liquidators of Great Southern Group, formerly Australia’s largest listed agricultural managed investment scheme provider. LK investigated the claims available to the liquidators, which culminated in multiple proceedings before the Supreme Court of Western Australia against the group’s former auditors and executive directors and officers arising from the misstatement of audited financial statements over a number of audit years. A favourable settlement was achieved in the lead up to trial.
One.Tel Limited
Represented the special purpose liquidator of One.Tel in the New South Wales Supreme Court in relation to its 2001 collapse following the withdrawal of an AU$132 million renounceable rights issue. The proceedings concerned claims against entities connected to some of the company’s former high-profile directors for breaches of directors’ duties in connection with the abandoned rights issue. The matter settled favourably before trial.
China Medical Technologies, Inc.
Represented the liquidators of a NASDAQ-listed medical technology group that collapsed following large-scale fraud by senior management. Investigated, instituted and led claims exceeding US$500 million in the High Court of Hong Kong against the group’s executive directors, officers and associates for breaches of duties, conspiracy, fraudulent trading and accessorial liability, and related proceedings in Singapore and the US to obtain worldwide asset freezing orders.
